Dressing for family portraits is important. First you have to decide is the portrait going to be formal or casual.  Then everyone should dress in the same style. Except if you want your only child to be the focus!  This couple wanted their daughter to be the focus of the portrait.  The colour red amongst the other neutral’s make’s you notice the sweet girl.   I love how the formal antique sofa matches the little girl, and the parent’s are more casual.
