Ten years ago, I took photos of this couple and their family for their 50th anniversary. It was a joy to photograph their 60th and include everyone. To me, it feels like no time has passed, and they say it doesn’t feel like 60 years either.

I recently had the pleasure of photographing Stepan Bilynskyy, MD, MA (SDMP), MA (BIOETHICS)
Stepan is a Spiritual Health Practitioner at Grace Health Campus and a Clinical Instructor at U of M. However, on the day of his portrait, my equipment failed. My studio strobes wouldn’t sync, and no matter what I tried, my trusted flashes wouldn’t work. I had to make do with the flashes as an available light source. Stepan was so patient with me, as I was trying to figure out my lighting. He then left me such a heart warming review that made my day.

“I needed a professional portrait for business purposes and found Photography by Michele online, hoping for high-quality photos. The experience surpassed my expectations: Michele was prompt and punctual in our communication, appeared to be a great reflective listener, and showed a wonderful demeanour. Her studio, which embodies the spirit of old Winnipeg, left a strong impression on me. I loved not just the final photos but also the process of working with Michele, including her artistic style, lighting, composition, colour palette of the backgrounds, and the emotions captured. The final photos exceeded my expectations, and I have already received positive feedback from my friends worldwide on social media. If you are looking for a high-quality, reasonably priced portrait in Winnipeg, I recommend Photography by Michele. You won’t be disappointed!” Stepan
It was lovely to photograph this young lady, who had never had a professional portrait taken before. She wanted something timeless and classic. Siera brought three different dress’s, and I was able to offer different looks for everyone of them. We had so much fun creating some traditional elegant images for her.

Siera was also kind enough to leave me a 5* google review, which I’m truly grateful.
I had a wonderful experience having my first photoshoot here, there were so many pictures to choose from and my final pictures turned out amazing and I’m getting compliments on them. I will be getting photographed here again! Thank you so much Michele! I’m a client, a happy customer!
It was such a pleasure to photograph this lovely family in the studio. The parents were celebrating a 40th wedding anniversary, often referred to as the “ruby anniversary,” is a significant milestone, and capturing this moment through portraits created lasting memories for them.

It was so nice to receive a 5* google review
“Our family experience with Michele was extremely positive. She demonstrates total professionalism in obtaining a wonderful portrait of our family in a well laid out and relaxed setting. We will enjoy our family portrait for years to come”.
It was my pleasure to photograph this young family and their new addition to the family. This has to be my favourite pose for a baby under 14 days old. The side view being held by dad in b/w is classic. Babies grow and change rapidly, and portraits capture those precious early moments, preserving memories for years to come. Whether it’s a formal photoshoot or candid snapshots, baby portraits are a great way to celebrate the beauty and innocence of early childhood.

A family portrait when welcoming a new baby can be meaningful for several reasons:
Overall, a family portrait not only celebrates the arrival of a new baby but also encapsulates the love and dynamics of your family at that moment in time.
The Millennium Centre in Winnipeg was a former Bank of Commerce building and was built in 1910-1912. The landmark heritage building is filled with beautiful character with defining elements throughout. A national historic site since 1997 its perfect for a wedding. I had the pleasure of photographing this beautiful couples wedding on 8-17-2024. It was a breath taking event my wide angle lens barely took in.

The couple chose to sign the paperwork in the Tapestry room, just off to the side behind closed doors. The setting is perfect for classic, timeless portraiture.

The couple choose to use another Manitoba Historical Site. The St. Boniface Cathedral was the backdrop for their historic portraits.

Back to the Millennium Centre, for a very modern grand entrance for the reception!

I’d highly recommend both historic venues for your wedding. If you’re looking for classic, timeless Wedding images with a little bit of fun give me a call!

Family Portraits are a wonderful way to capture the love, laughter, and memories of your family. Taking your child portrait separate from the family is way to capture the innocence, curiosity, and joy of childhood.
Here are some reasons why you should take your children portraits separate from family portraits.
First and for most to preserve memories. As they grow up, these photos will become treasured family heirlooms, allowing you to relieve fond moments and remember the little details that make them so special. These photos create a lasting family heirloom, passed down from generation to generation.
Capturing milestones and their unique personality: This little girls favourite colour is pink. So when I ask which chair/bench she would like to use for her portrait. She choose this one! The family was such a pleasure to work with. I loved their colourful traditional clothing, even though the “pink” bench didn’t quite go with her outfit… she didn’t care and was happy.
