Baby Nnamdi was only 7 days old when he came in for his first portrait. I don’t think he liked my studio as he was a little fussy. After 3 hours he settled down and I managed to take a few really nice portraits of him.

I had the pleasure of photographing Cheron Long-Landes once again. I swear this lady looks younger now then she did 10 years ago! Cheron is a holistic practitioner and her ideal client is someone who is tired of hearing “here, try this” and who is ready to make life-changing adjustments for themselves. Typically, she helps people living with pain, auto-immune diseases, digestive disorders, allergies and food sensitivities. It was my pleasure to photograph Cheron in the studio, and I love making recommendations for backgrounds that co-ordinate with her business colour scheme. Having different images for social media was important for Cheron.

I’d love to introduce you to Barbara Remnant & Dave Hall. They are the nicest couple and own this beautiful brick home known as The Castle, which was built over 110 years ago. Half the house is dedicated to airbnb and is located at 663 Langside st. in the heart of Winnipeg Manitoba. Photographing this big old house was fun, and as an interior decorator I made some minor adjustment’s using their items. They were both extremely accommodating for any suggestions I made. I truly believe they are super hosts! As I can see why they are highly rated and committed to providing great stays for guests. They’ll be working on updating the airbnb website .

The main floor has an open concept living room dinning, kitchen, and powder room. All done in neutral colours with a pop of yellow.
The second floor has a large bedroom, with wardrobe, dresser and desk. Known as the Turret Bedroom, which provides great light and a view of the beautiful old tress in front of the house.
Comfortable Third Floor has 3 bedrooms, lounge with coffee/tea bar and full bathroom.
If you’re looking for a clean, comfortable, affordable room in the heart of Winnipeg this is your place!
Oak Hammock Marsh is such a wonderful place for a family portrait session. The boardwalk is a bit of a hike in, but worth it for background! This family is casual, and wanted to wear plaid. Perfect attire for this setting. Photographing the whole group and each family was requested and why not? If you’re going to make an effort to have the whole family there, it only takes a little bit more time for individual portraits of each family. After everything is photographed you pick the best image from each sitting. Then what? What are you going to do with 6 or more photographs, you only have so much wall space …. right? I suggested a college of everything this family wanted. This way they save on wall space, and still have all the images together. What do you think of a college? or just one large one of everyone?

This was the sweetest family to photograph. I love the colourful clothing for their son’s baptism. Grandma flew in for the ceremony and they wanted professional studio portraits. We took so many I knew it was going to be hard for them to pick during the ordering process. We managed to narrow it down and here are a few of my favourites.

Most families need a reason for a portrait, and this couple was celebrating 50 years of marriage! What a great way to celebrate the family you’ve created. Consultations are a must with every family portrait. First we have to decide if you’re formal or a casual family. Then clothing and colour options. If you’re going to hang a family portrait you might as well co-ordinate the clothing colour with the room. This family wanted something a little more formal in shades of blue. I always request families to stay away from patterns, flowers, and stripes as I prefer the focus to be on faces not clothing. The mom is the only one in pattern and the focus is right on her in them middle. I think the end results turned out great! Congratulations again to this beautiful family.
