I was asked by Karen Grant of Aylee Consulting to photograph the Welcome Wagon Bridal show on April 6, 2014 at the Radison Hotel in Winnipeg. I’ve never been to a welcome wagon event, nor have I advertised my services with a booth. This show was all new to me. I decided to take on the challenge and promote my wedding photography. I invited the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation to share tablespace as I’ve partnered with them to raise money. For every wedding I book I’ll donate $100. to breast cancer. CBCF also supplied 3 volunteers to help me with the crowds!
kiss for a cure is a wonderful program for couples to raise money for breast cancer.
Here’s how my table looked with Adria a volunteer from CBCF

I was amazed at all the beautiful fashion’s, jewelry, and flowers. Kerri Salki from 102.3 FM did an amazing job hosting the fashion show. She kept the program entertaining and was very informative about the products we were seeing. The models, truly did a fantastic job. Even the little kids were adorable, especially one little boy who struck a dance pose everytime he stopped
I’ve been photographing weddings since 1990! (I started when I was 5 LOL) Weddings have really changed over the years. Even the style of wedding photography. It used to be very formal and somewhat stiff, not a joking matter….very serious! I look at my parents wedding photographs from 1958 and they look sad…hardly a smile. Perhaps digital photography has brought a carefree attitude towards capturing that special day. Now wedding photographs are taken in back alleys with graffiti and garbage, sunflower/wheat fields, water, greenery, etc…. of course the blown out highlight from the sun (sun glare) and washed out photo’s are very popular right now. When I went to school that was considered “bad lighting” oh all the photos I threw out because of sunglare. Now it’s considered creative!
One thing is certain, I’ve always tried to bring out personalities in the people I photograph. I really don’t care where we photograph your wedding, just as long as it has meaning for you! If you’re quiet and shy and don’t like having your photo taken, I’m not going to make you do something you’re not comfortable with. You’re hiring me to create lasting memories to pass on to generations. There should be photographs that show the person you are, and the love you have for each other. We can be silly but we should also capture some classic moments.
I really enjoyed meeting all the venders, potential clients and of course the models.I’d like to congratulate all the engaged couples I met at the welcome wagon bridal show!
I uploaded all the images to my web site, if you’d like the passcode please email me…
Rolls-Royce for hire in Winnipeg
I recently had coffee with Reginald Bartlette – owner of RRR EVENT SERVICES (aka Regency Rolls Royce) and a stunning porcelain white wedding and bridal car.
His company provides first class cars-for-hire in Winnipeg, specializing in Classic (air conditioned) Rolls Royce motorcar with personal chauffeur. Refined, comfortable & spacious, these are truly a fine example of what luxury cars should be!! Rolls-Royce have become synonymous with excellence and prestige. Perfect for a special day.
This 5-seater, 4-passenger hand built Rolls-Royce was manufactured specifically to be larger and more spacious in the back seating area, known as the ‘lounge’. With high ceilings and flat floors allowing for ease of entry and exit. Surely a wise choice for ladies (or brides) with extravagant or classic dresses that require ease of access, as well as extra leg room. Corporate Executives will also appreciate these finer points, as well as the quiet ride. Even when parked, these beautiful motorcars radiate style and charisma.
Perfect for every occasion, particularly for weddings, engagements, anniversaries, birthdays, grads, the symphony, and any other important event where making the right impression is paramount.
Arrive in style at your next important private event or business function!
