Mom’s and Son’s

Posted on September 12, 2018 by Photography by Michele

I loved being able to use three different area’s  of my studio to photograph this mother and son.   Backdrop’s tend to be more formal while the other backgrounds are more casual and offer natural light with the large windows.  They couldn’t decide what they wanted so I suggested trying them all!  Wearing  black  could go either way for a certain look.   I love the simplicity of the clothing, as it focus’s more on the expression, lighting, and posing, rather than what they are wearing.    I’m always curious why people have a professional portrait taken, their answer…  Just because!

New Ombudsman

Posted on August 9, 2018 by Photography by Michele

The Legislative Assembly of Manitoba has a new acting ombudsman.

Marc Cormier was promoted to the role.  Mr. Cormier comes from a military background, having served 18 years with the Canadian Armed Forces as a commissioned officer. He achieved the rank of Senior Officer working with the director general of the Canadian Forces Grievance Authority.

It was great to have Marc in the studio for his official portrait!

Future Lawyer

Posted on August 3, 2018 by Photography by Michele

Ambe was visiting Winnipeg from the North West Territories and wanted to have a professional portrait taken.  I alway’s ask what the propose is, as to create a style and match the expression.    Ambe’s response “oh I’ve never had one before, and thought it was a good idea”  After a little more digging, I found out he he’s heading back to school to become a lawyer.  What a great idea to have a professional business portrait   just on social media.  It will surely  open many doors for Ambe!

Jumping for Wedding Season!

Posted on July 16, 2018 by Photography by Michele

The legislative grounds   make a beautiful backdrop for weddings in Winnipeg.  Great architecture,  water fountains, and beautiful flowers.  I had the pleasure of photographing this  sweet couple.  The whole wedding party was so easy going and tried a few things I requested.   ( Like jumping a few times for that perfect shot)!    All the best in love and laughter Jess +  Riley!

Safety Day at Lafarge

Posted on May 11, 2018 by Photography by Michele

It was great to photograph Safety Day at Lafarge Canada Inc.  on May 10 2018. The turn out was fantastic! Dave, from International Canadian School of Survival  had so many great tips, even this city girl learnt a few lesson’s.  buildingbettercities-saftetyfirst-winnipegeventphotographer-photographybymichele-lafarge.jpg

The Red Ember treated us to so many different kinds of pizza and salads!   apparently it’s the “BEST PIZZA IN THE CITY – SOME RANDOM GUY”  and I have to agree, it was EXCELLENT! theredember-foodtruck-saftetyfirst-winnipegeventphotographer-photographybymichele-lafarge.jpg

The Winnipeg Fire Department demonstrated how they chop up a car, using safety gear. Also, safety ropes used on the job to fight fires.  It was mesmerizing to watch, and the clear blue sky made the images pop. winnipegfiredepartment-saftetyfirst-winnipegeventphotographer-photographybymichele-lafarge.jpg

Hilti demonstrated the use of power tools that are dustless on concrete.hilti-saftetyfirst-winnipegeventphotographer-photographybymichele-lafarge.jpg

Last but not least Maples Chiropractic   gave  5 minute neck/back massage.  mapleschiropractic-onlocation-saftetyfirst-winnipegeventphotographer-photographybymichele-lafarge.jpg

Special thanks to Lafarge for making Safety Day a huge success!
