Kate + Felix are waiting for their first baby and wanted me to take a few photo’s prior to the arrival. We had so much fun with this maternity shoot, and I look forward to photographing the baby soon!
Staring off into the distance with all kinds of hopes and dreams for a wonderful future!
I love the simplicity of a clean white background.
Great to meet and photograph Dr. Cory Baillie. His professional life is all about helping patients live without chronic pain and inflammation. The 47-year-old Saskatoon native is a rheumatologist with busy practice at the Manitoba Clinic. For the past four years, he has also served as the University of Manitoba Rheumatology residency program director. At the beginning of July, he will step down from that role so he can focus on his new position as president-elect of Doctors Manitoba.

I photograph many individual business portraits. I have a awesome 2400 sq foot studio that I love. However, did you know I will photograph on location? I’ll set up a small studio in your boardroom and photograph the team. Business portraits of all your employees look unified with the same colour background. Let me help you make your business look professional.
Quite often when I photograph a large family, I also do mom +dad, siblings, the immediate family, grandchildren etc… If wanted. This group was my last family portrait of 2019 and was such a lovely family to photograph. Here’s a few of our favourites.
It was such a pleasure to meet and photograph Sherrie. Sherrie is the director of SHADE, and originally wanted a head and shoulder portrait. After spending some time with her and listening to her story, I felt a head and shoulder portrait just didn’t show her caring nature. Sherrie choose both of these images, but I think the second one really show’s her personality. To me it’s like we are just sitting across the table having a coffee. Professional but casual.
What is Shade?
SHADE is a community of passionate and skilled people working together for and with immigrant women and their children to reclaim the birthright to live free from abuse. It is a community that supports immigrant women and their children as they reshape their destiny through healing work, family bonding, and the re-building of healthy relationships with one another. SHADE became a registered non-profit in January 2014.
For more information on SHADE or to read more about Sherrie check out her website.
I was surprised when a former client contacted me to do a portrait of her teenage son with his fencing gear. Fencing ? People still do this? After a little research I realize there are clubs and even tournaments! Manitoba Fencing Association has more information if you’re interested in the sport. It’s a little intimidating photographing a teenager with a sword but this mild mannered young man put me at ease. I basically had 4 day’s to shoot, retouch, print, and frame! The portraits were for a gift for his grandma, and she just loved them.
Baby Nnamdi was only 7 days old when he came in for his first portrait. I don’t think he liked my studio as he was a little fussy. After 3 hours he settled down and I managed to take a few really nice portraits of him.
I had the pleasure of photographing Cheron Long-Landes once again. I swear this lady looks younger now then she did 10 years ago! Cheron is a holistic practitioner and her ideal client is someone who is tired of hearing “here, try this” and who is ready to make life-changing adjustments for themselves. Typically, she helps people living with pain, auto-immune diseases, digestive disorders, allergies and food sensitivities. It was my pleasure to photograph Cheron in the studio, and I love making recommendations for backgrounds that co-ordinate with her business colour scheme. Having different images for social media was important for Cheron.
I’d love to introduce you to Barbara Remnant & Dave Hall. They are the nicest couple and own this beautiful brick home known as The Castle, which was built over 110 years ago. Half the house is dedicated to airbnb and is located at 663 Langside st. in the heart of Winnipeg Manitoba. Photographing this big old house was fun, and as an interior decorator I made some minor adjustment’s using their items. They were both extremely accommodating for any suggestions I made. I truly believe they are super hosts! As I can see why they are highly rated and committed to providing great stays for guests. They’ll be working on updating the airbnb website .
