Photographing doctors is incredibly humbling for me. The amount of care and compassion required to help others certainly takes a special kind of person. Dr. Gigi Osler is a ear, nose and throat surgeon. She volunteers overseas and runs a busy household. It was a pleasure to meet and photograph this amazing women. 
I attended the Home and Garden Show at the RBC Convention Centre in Winnipeg this weekend. The Urban Barn main stage hosted Jillian Harris and Todd Talbot from Love it or List it Vancouver! I have a celebrity crush on these two. Their playful interaction with each other is fun to watch and nice to see them acting the same way for their presentation.
I’m about to begin my last decorating class for my certificate in residential decorating. It’s been a long haul on a part-time basis. The course at Red River college has been more about designing and re-designing space then decorating. I feel like I’ve learnt so much and I’m thinking more about how to incorporate decorating/design with my photography expertise. I’m so excited to see what the future holds!
June Derksen, is a graphic designer and stain glass artist. She specializes in brand identity, logo design, illustration, and collateral materials development. June also created my beautiful logo a couple of years ago. I first meet June at a Women Business Owners Meeting and we just clicked. Amit needed a new business portrait, but a few different styles to update his website. He decided both business and casual looks were required depending on the marketing material. He wasn’t sure about the background colour, so I suggested all white. Photographing on white is called high-key photography. His image can be used as it or easily cropped and placed on a differant background at a later date.

It’s so wonderful to have repeat clients, and I love to watch their families grow. My client colour co-ordinated the girls and boys. The red is such a powerful colour that black was the only option for me and I just love how the focus is on their sweet faces. Another beautiful portrait for the annual Christmas card 🙂

I had the pleasure of meeting this wonderful family a few weeks ago. They live in different parts of Canada but came together to celebrate their parents 50th. It was a opportunity to photograph everyone, both together and as individual families. The family portraits were done right in their own backyard!

How cute is this little guy? Being a baby photographer in Winnipeg can be fun and I always try to be a little creative. This little guy’s big brother brought a cat truck to play with and we ended up using it for some of the photo shoots. As a preemie Cash (yes that’s his name) only weighed 4 Lbs. Adorable in the little truck! 
I’ve had the pleasure of photographing Mr. Andrew Swan and his family for many years. A politician in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. He was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba in a 2004 by-election.
Every year the portrait is taken in a different location of his riding. This year the family portrait was at Sargent Park School. It’s been wonderful to watch his daughter’s grow up into beautiful teenagers. This was the first image I took and it was a keeper 🙂
